Why Type
I was recently working with some Y4 children on conventional 'All About Me' Powerpoint presentations. We discovered that many of them were hindered by poor command of the keyboard and many of you will know my thoughts on this, but on this occasions I decided to pool ideas form my Twitter network. Here below is the response to the question:
Why should my Year 4 Class learn to type?

To communicate!! I think a use of a program such as 2type and constant reminders to use all their fingers works best. There is not enough time within their primary education to teach touch typing properly. I learned at secondary school and did an exam on it but most people just become familiar with use of the keyboard and having an interesting use for using the keyboard.
