Assemble a wide variety of texts and other materials that express or explore views on a particular controversial issue, for example news articles, letters, books, websites, TV or radio clips. Ensure that these cover a range of for, against and balanced views. The issue could be selected to relate to work in other curriculum areas. A particularly engaging text, for example a children's TV news item, film clip or website, can be read or viewed and then discussed as an introduction.
