Leaps and Bounds

This is Dylan, last week, he was trying out Leaps and Bounds volume 1. This software from Granada learning has a range of (what seem like) daft activities, but these are aimed at teaching cause and effect and encouraging concentration. User can control a dog, who goes for a long walk, create a simple composition and make a little creature burp, shout or jump. The great thing about this application though is the ability to control it via a mic or a switch. In the video clip, Dylan is controlling lines of blobby creatures. A blue square hovers over each creature and by speaking into the mic a creature will make a sound.

This package also features in the Northampton DVD of good practice, and demonstrates a way to engage learners with communication difficulties.
